Our Mission Statement
The mission of the East Bay Coalition for the Homeless is to house homeless families
with children and provide them with the support, skills and resources needed to become
self-reliant.
Since 1989, the East Bay Coalition for the Homeless has been helping homeless families
with children get back on their feet. Respecting the right and preferences of families
helps move them toward the goal of self-reliance within the framework of healthy
independence. In addition to a continuum of life-skills service, families focus is
on the skills necessary to support housing—long term. An array of support services
may be accessed by residents through our in-house or referral network.
The East Bay Coalition for the Homeless is the only agency in the East Bay area providing
supportive housing for the homeless. Sometimes people need help getting back on their feet.
To give them time and a safe space to accomplish their goals, the Coalition operates
twelve supportive housing units in East Providence, Warren and Bristol. Our apartments
can be used for up to two years to help families break the cycle of poverty and
homelessness. The Coalition offers counseling, referrals and individual case-management
to each client family. Our work is vital in empowering people to regain self-reliance to once again become vital
members in our communities.
Our Housing

Community Action Program, formerly, Self Help the Coalition provide comprehensive case
